Gifted and Accelerated Learning

Gifted and Talented students needs to be identified, recognized and appropriately challenged in school to;

  • Reach their full potential

  • Keep them engaged

  • Avoid ‘boredom’ and underperformance

  • Direct their gift in the right direction

  • Support all areas of their learning

Many schools do not know how to appropriately challenged talented students. Children who have been identified as ‘Gifted’ often have asynchronous development (often their high intellect is not in sync with their emotional intelligence or maturity). Often, gifted and talented children are not correctly identified because of this asynchronous development, or teachers only want to focus on their ‘challenges’ and ignore developing their gifts.

Twice Exceptional children are children who have been identified as being both gifted and having a diagnosed learning difficulty. 2E Children are a mosaic of talent, and an inability to demonstrate it, of passion and frustration, of hope and excitement paired with infuriation at not having the tools to execute or share their excitement.

It is most important that we find the right learning institute for Gifted and Talented learners to avoid frustration, underperformance and school refusal.

Our consultants work closely with Mensa (Victoria) and are active members of the Gifted Network Community in Melbourne, Australia and part of the Global Gifted Network. Elite Programs

(sport, chess, music)

Students who are part of an elite development program outside of school must balance their school commitments with the requirements of their endeavors. Elite sporting programs including swimming, ballet, rowing and gymnastics require considerable amounts of training that can impact school hours. Many musicians, tournament chess players and equestrian riders travel to compete or rehearse. Finding a balance and negotiating with the school will help your child manage the demands of study, allowing them to follow their passion. Feel free to contact us if we can be of assistance to you and your family.
